Khmer Kung Fu, Bokator, Muay Thai Boran, and traditional Khmer wrestling are just a few of the forms. There are many more. These sports are popular over the centuries. You can find many styles and federations.

Kun Khmer

Kun Khmer is one of the oldest known forms of Khmer martial arts. Bokator is an original form of ground fighting from Cambodia that includes kung Fu. Bokator uses a combination of shin kicks, knee and elbow strikes and submissions. The practice of Bokator has been a part of Cambodian culture for centuries. Its practitioners wear uniforms that were worn by the Khmer army in ancient times and bind their biceps to a string called Sangvar Day, which is believed will increase their strength.

Muay Thai Boran

The Muay Thailand Boran martial arts are closely related to Thailand's. Both styles have become professional sports. Thailand boasts more than 100,000 boxers while Cambodia has only a handful. Muay Thai Boran originated as a military fighting art. It was later refined to be used in the ring.

Krabi Krabong

It is difficult to find out much about the history of martial art in Cambodia. Many Khmers don’t have televisions. Not all foreign broadcasts are translated to Khmer. K1, MMA, UFC and other broadcasts are unknown to most Khmers. But that doesn't mean martial arts don't have a place in Cambodia.


Angkor Wat

In Cambodia, martial arts are practiced widely. One of the oldest forms of Martial Arts is Bokator. This style of combat has been practiced for over 1700 years. This style of combat is believed to have been developed by the Angkor military. It is practiced in the capital city Phnom Penh.

Grandmaster San

Grandmaster San of martial art Cambodia has trained thousands in the ancient art bokator. His students are well-known and have attracted attention from the international media. Tharoth, a 28-year-old, has landed roles on Netflix, TV, and Hollywood films. San is now a volunteer to help the sport grow and preserve its traditions. Bokator may be the oldest martial art of Southeast Asia.

How to Survive a Home Invasion

Home invasion is scary, especially for children. We didn't know we would have to go through this ourselves when we started our home security system installation journey. Here's our experience so far.

  1. Do Not Allow Your Children to See The Attackers. Our children were upstairs sleeping when two men entered our house. We kept them downstairs until the police arrived. The police arrived and our kids were not hurt. However, the traumatizing images did enough to make them feel scared.
  2. Lock All Valuables. All valuables are kept in a safe in the bedroom. Even if someone breaks in to the house, they won’t even be able get it.
  3. Keep An Eye Out For Burglars. We live in a neighborhood that has a lot of burglaries. We always keep an eye out for suspicious vehicles and people.
  4. Always have a backup plan. If something happens, our family will be taken over financially. If necessary, we have a plan for leaving the country.
  5. Be prepared. If you are ever in a situation where your life is at stake, it is important to be prepared. Always have food, water, or other supplies on hand.
  6. Get help immediately by calling 911. After you discover that someone is breaking into your home, immediately call 911. It's safer to call the authorities immediately than to wait for them at your door.
  7. Use common sense. You won't allow anyone in who isn't right for you. You should not invite strangers to your home.
  8. You can get help from nearby neighbors and people who live in the same area. If you feel uneasy, call friends or neighbors. You can have them watch your back while calling the police.
